Shermy Wormy.

My family is very much like other families in the US. We live in an average, middle class house, own a dog and pay the bills. Our family dog is an austrailian border collie. She is ten years old and her name is Sherman. I know that she's a girl, but my dad insisted that we call her Sherman. My sister and I have about ten nicknames for her though; Shermy, Shermy wormy, Snoop a loop, Snoppy and so on. This past week she has been very sick. She refuses to eat and has a hard time controlling her bladder. My dad finally took her to the vet and she stayed a few nights. We came to find out that she had a really bad kidney infection and the vet informed us that she may not live through this. Right away I was upset because I grew up with this dog. I played frizbee with her in the front yard all the time and she hogs the bed when she sleeps with me at night. On Saturday we picked her up from the vet and took her home. The vet said that she is doing better, but this will indeed affect her life. She will not live as long and will not be as active and energentic as she usually is. My family and I were extremely happy to have her home. On the down side though, we could all still tell that she was still sick. She spends most of her time laying downstairs by herself. She takes medicine twice daily and doesn't eat much. She's a tough dog though and I know she'll be just fine!

Nineteen Minutes

I've recently been reading a book called "Nineteen Minutes." This book has really showed me how much teasing someone can really affect someone's life. Without giving away the ending, this book is how teasing someone was pushed to the extreme and many were killed. A boy was teased so much at school for years upon years. This boy never stood up for himself not once. Right in the beginning we come to find that this boy is fed up with everything and he brings a gun to school. Like I said before I'm not going to give too much information out just so I do not ruin it for everyone.

This book really showed me how teasing can really hurt someone. This boy didn't even want to go to school because of all this teasing. It helped me look back into my high school days and realize all the kids who got teased, and I never once said anything to anyone. I usually just ignored it or and sometimes I even laughed. I feel bad right now just thinking about it. I really recommend this book to anyone. It is a great book and really shows a lot of life lessons throughout it as well.

My Family and Life.

I though that I would write about my family since not a lot of people really know me very well. I am the youngest of three girls. My oldest sister is Steph and she's 24 She gratuated from Oshkosh and is now teaching 8th grade math at Racine Middle School. My middle sister is Kim. She is 22 and goes to Winona State. Her expected graduation date is fall of 2009. I am 18 and am still living at home. I am playing basketball for TC. In high school I played volleyball, basketball and softball. My dad owns his own lawn care business named Galstads Turf Care. In the spring, summer and fall he works almost everyday of the week and long hours. In the winter time he spends a lot of time cleaning our house and ice fishing. My mom works at Airmark. She really does not care for her job too much, but she does not complain that much.

We have a family dog named Sherman. Sherman is a girl name and she's an austrailian border collie. My sister has a 8 month old kitten named Khloe. She's white with a little bit of brown. Khole lives at home with us. I have a 4 year old kat named Nala. She sleeps with me every night no matter where I sleep in my house. She's adorable and I love her so much!

I live way out in the country in Holmen. I've lived in Holmen since I was one. Before then my family and I lived in LaCrosse on Green Bay St. My room is my favorite part of our house. It's full of multiple colors and my bed is amazing. It is a queen sized bed and filled with 2 body pillows, 4 normal sized pillows, 1 blanket, 2 down comforters, my baby blanket and a few stuffed animals. Oh, and I cannot forget about my cat and dog that sleep with me as well.

My family has a pool in our backyard. That is where I spend most of my time when I am not working in the summer time. It is very relaxing to lay out in my backyard on the hammock on summer nights and look at the stars. That is one of my favorite things to do in the summer time. Just lay back and relax and take in the summer breeze.

Mad Money

I recently just watched a movie that made me want to rob a bank. Well, not really, I don't have the guts to do that. The movie I'm talking about is Mad Money. This movie stars Diane Keaton, Queen Latifah and Katie Holmes. These three ladies all work for a secure bank in America. They come up with a brilliant plan to smuggle out millions of dollars in worn-out currency that heads to the Federal Reserve shredder everyday. This movie is packed full of comedy and action.

My favorite scene in this movie is when they almost get caught smuggling money. They make the scene really funny and enjoyable. However, they make it through their conflict without getting caught. When doing so they stir up a little trouble and a big problem which causes their plan to move south. After a little negotiation they made a requite into their scam making scheme.

I really enjoyed this movie because it really emphasizes how money cannot buy happiness. That statement proves to be true in this film. These ladies steal all this money and start spending it and they all think that they are happy. After a while it starts showing that these ladies are not happy. They just keep wanting more and more money to make them happy.  They say that their not happy until they get it all. Now that just turns into pure greed. Greed can really take over a persons life. It really shows in this movie. These three ladies start spending money like crazy and sooner or later that starts to show which causes a lot of suspicion upon their part.

I just don't understand how someone could be so greedy. I'm not saying that I don't like money, because I do. What I'm saying is being so greedy to the point where all you care about is money and yourself. Now that's being greedy.  That's how the title of this movie got its name, Mad Money.

An Old Friend Has Recently Appeared.

Last night started out like any other night. I was talking to mom while I was on facebook as well. A friend request popped up and right away I knew exactly who it was from. He was my best friend and neighbor from when I was ten years old. I was so excited to hear from him. Without even thinking I accepted his friend request and began talking right away. We talked for two yours last night about everything. We talked about life, schooling, family and all of our childhood memories. We both were so excited to hear from each other that my hands were shaking. Ryan and I grew up together and saw each other almost every day. We rode the bus together, had class together and played all the time. Growing up with Ryan made life so much fun, but there was something that was not right growing up with him. Ryan’s mom had leukemia. When we were 12 she passed. It was a very hard for Ryan’s dad. Ryan also had a younger sister Holly who I fell in love with. She was like my little sister. I would always do her hair and we would play together all the time. Shortly after Ryan’s mom had passed, their family moved away to be with other relatives and so Ryan and Holly would have more of a mother like figure around. I was devastated. That was the second good friend that I had move away from me. It was hard for me and for Ryan and Holly as well, but I had to move on with life. I had not heard from either of them until last night. I’m so excited to hear that everyone is doing great. Ryan and I are planning a get together sometime soon so we catch up over all these year. I cannot wait until that day. I feel as if I have gained something back in my life. Life just can’t get any better than this right now!

A very long day.

Today I spent my time with my sister. I woke up around 9am and went out to breakfast with my sister Kim and her boyfriend. After that we decided to go to the mall all day long. And let me tell you, my sister loves to shop! It was a long day of shopping. We started to get really hungry so we came home. Thank god!

Today was just one of those days. One of those days when it is just so crapy out that you want to spend the whole day in from of the tv with lots of blankets. I would of loved to do that today. Does anyone else just love days like that? Instead of doing that all night long, I went to work. Ugh.

I got done with work early so I went to Winona to visit my best friends. It was so much fun! I just got home and now I am very tired. I am going to go to bed very soon and get a good night sleep. I'm so excited!

WHOA! My first blog is about relationships.

I am going to write about relationships, because most 18 and 19 year-olds have been in some type of relationship throughout their lives. I have been in a number of relationships throughout high school. Only one has really affected my life though. It was love at first sight. I dated this boy who was younger than me, but I did not mind at all. He was a sophomore and I was a junior. We dated for a year and a half until I found out from my friends that he cheated on me. I did not believe it at first. I just did not want to. I could not believe that he would do something like to me. It turns out it was true. We broke up right away. After that I had never been so sad and lonely for that long. Over a few months of time he tried so extremely hard to win me back. I tried to stay strong even though it was difficult. We started talking again and are now friends. Someday we may become more. I just find it hard to trust people now.
